Our Work

Leh We Talk is dedicated to providing a safe space for people in Sierra Leone to explore mental health topics. Our projects aim to foster open, stigma-free conversations and empower people to learn, share, and grow.

In 2024, we launched Mind Check, engaging  young people (ages 14-25) in Sierra Leone to help design solutions addressing drug use and mental health. Through a confidential survey, we gathered insights on substance use, particularly Kush, and explored the reasons behind drug use, such as unemployment. Participants shared ideas on key job skills (e.g., computer, business, and technical skills) and how we can help youth avoid drugs and find employment. By involving young people directly, Mind Check ensures that our upcoming interventions are shaped by the community's voices, leading to more effective and impactful outcomes. This project is a foundational step in our broader mission to address mental health and substance misuse through youth-driven, culturally informed solutions.

Leh We Talk

We are empowering people in Sierra Leone by fostering open dialogue, reducing stigma, and equipping them with coping strategies and job skills to enhance well-being and employability.
